If you are missing teeth, dentures are a viable option for replacement.
Dentures are a removable way to replace the teeth and tissue in your mouth. Our dental office offers beautiful dentures, designed to fit your mouth seamlessly, made with premium teeth for a natural look.
There are two types of dentures available: partial dentures and full dentures.
Partial dentures—also known as a removable bridge—features replacement teeth, connected to a gum-colored base. Partial dentures use a metal framework to connect the replacement teeth to your natural teeth. Partial dentures are appropriate for those who still have some natural teeth in their mouth, and are especially good for preventing those teeth from shifting.
Full dentures are for those who have lost all of the teeth in their mouth. Dentures can be made conventionally or immediately. Immediate dentures are made before your teeth are removed, thus they are ready to wear as soon as your extractions are performed. However, as your bones and gums will swell and then shrink—especially throughout the healing process—immediate dentures may require more adjustments than conventional dentures.
Conventional dentures cannot be worn for 8-12 weeks following your extractions, but will fit more comfortably and require much less adjustment than immediate dentures. Oftentimes, immediate dentures are used as a temporary solution until conventional dentures are ready.
Dental implants are fast becoming a popular alternative to dentures. Learn more about dental implants and find out if you’re a candidate for the procedure here: Dental Implants.
